Blog Hop Around the World

 Hello lovely souls

Before I get on to the blog hop a peek at my latest work on a box.

What's this blog hop about?...

This blog hop is an ongoing weekly post where in artists are introducing other artists and sharing a little bit about themselves. Its a beautiful way to connect and discover new artists and check out the wonderful Art they are making.

A few days ago I was invited by Kali Parsons to participate in a blog hop. Kali and I met during an online workshop called Dancing With Your Dreams. I love love love the fact that Kali paints daily and blogs daily. I totally enjoy her whimsical artworks and the stories in her blog. Her Art reminds me of happy. BTW Kali is the name of an Indian Goddess. Don't forget to stop by and check out her pretty Art. Here is a picture of her pretty door that she painted.

Kali gave the door in her home a makeover

Now a little bit about my Art

1. What am I working on? I am currently working on some commissioned Buddha Canvas pieces. Three pieces in 20"x24" to be precise. I never do series so this is a bit of a challenge for me to make them look like they belong to the same family. Besides that I have a few small boxes that are in different stages of completion as of now. My studio always has a few WIP.

2. How does my work differ from others in its genre? Hmmmm well for once I draw from my imagination, I usually let the brush do the talking, and hence the artworks always tend to look different from others. Plus I try to bring in a little bit of India into the Art like adding a piece of jewellery that looks very traditional. Although when I am learning in a classroom I go by what the teacher is teaching  so as to learn the technique but even there I will make it my own. Even if it means making a horizontal artwork instead of vertical. LOL.

3. Why do I create what I do? Because it keeps me happy, It keeps me alive, it heals me and taches me a lot. I create for the love of creating and as a spiritual practice.

4. How does my creating process work? I usually begin my creative process with a little bit of grounding and cleansing of my own energy. Before I begin I light a small lamp (Diya) on my altar, write a bit like the morning pages, and then begin to work. I totally believe in calling on my unseen friends or angels or muse while creating and a lot of my process involves about breathing in positive thoughts with every stroke. A lot of my paintings are created for Infinite Buddhas of Compassion Project and 108 Ganeshas project. I love creating faces and I love the freedom that mix media art provides. Its liberating and refreshing and goes with my intuitive style of painting.

Now that I have shared my process don't forget to check out these amazing artists on 8th December 2014. Here is a little bit about them. Each one of these are marvellous and more importantly large hearted. I am so thankful for their presence.

Guada is from Argentina and I first connected with her when I took her Seed of Life Class. Guada is a Mix media and Mandala Artist, and a singer. I also totally adore the way she incorporates Mandalas with the lovely girls she creates.

I connected with Simona when I discovered her Chakra Art Workshop in early 2013. Believe me if was powerful and fun at the same time. I loved every moment of it. And we soon connected on FB and stayed in touch. I love her beautiful Kai Zen doodles. They are colourful and so so so intricate. Its a pleasure to see them in my inbox each time she blogs.

I connected with Sumaiyah in 2012 when I won a gift of some goodies and I was over the moon. Ever since then I have been admiring her journey. She wears many hats. She is an Artist, Author, Certified Intentional Creativity Coach, Certified Color of Woman Teacher.  Sumaiyah owns and operates the Soulful Emergence Art Gallery located in Baltimore, MD.

Don't forget to drop by next week and read more about these wonderful artist who will take time to share about their process.

Compliments of the season.

Much love and light being sent your way.
Prerna Poojara

PS : I always love hearing from you.
